Christmas Joy Offering

Presbyterians have long celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ by giving generously to a Christmas season offering. Fifty percent of the Christmas Joy Offering is given to the Board of Pensions for programs that provide support to retired and active church workers and their families. The other fifty percent supports the eight Presbyterian-related racial and ethnic schools and colleges through the National Ministries Division of the General Assembly Council. This offering is collected on the Sunday nearest Christmas and also on Christmas Eve.

One Great Hour of Sharing

Since 1949, Presbyterians have joined with millions of other Christians through One Great Hour of Sharing to share God's love with people in need. Our gifts support ministries of disaster response, refugee assistance and resettlement, and community development that help people find refuge start new lives, and work together to strengthen their families and communities. We recognize that the hope we have in Christ is lived out in our hope for one another, we help our sisters and brothers around the world find the hope for a brighter future. This offering is collected on Palm Sunday.

Pentecost Offering

The Pentecost Offering is the youngest of the four church-wide special offerings of the PCUSA. In its first four years, almost $2.5 million has been given through this offering to support the denomination's work with children at risk, as well as ministries with youth and young adults, and child advocacy programs. The denomination's work in these areas spans this country and reaches around the world. This offering is collected in May.

Peacemaking Offering

Christians are called as Christ's people to be God's peacemakers as agents of reconciliation in families, individual lives, communities, churches, the international arena, and the whole of creation. Peacemaking is the human response to the divine gift of peace giving. The Peacemaking Offering supports the peacemaking the peacemaking efforts of the church at every governing body level, and provides an opportunity to witness to God's gift of peace in the world.
